Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Omni Vibe Mart ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information across the Omni Vibe Mart customer app, the Omni Vibe Mart Vendor app, and this website (together, the "Service"). It applies to shoppers, store owners, and anyone else who uses the Service.
By using Omni Vibe Mart, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Information We Collect
If you're a customer, we collect:
- Your name and mobile number, used to sign you in via a one-time code (OTP)
- Delivery addresses you save to your account
- Order history, including items ordered, quantities, and order status
- Loyalty points and store credit balances
- Products you save to your wishlist, and products you ask to be notified about when back in stock
- Complaints or support messages you submit, including any details or photos you attach
- Reports you submit about a store's promotional banner, and the stores whose offers you choose to hide
- Messages you exchange with stores in chat, including any photos, videos, documents, products or orders you share — see Chat & Messages
- A device token, used to deliver notifications — order-status updates, back-in-stock alerts, credit and store-invite notices, and occasional account messages
If you're a vendor, we additionally collect:
- Store name, owner name, mobile number, and email address
- Business address and, if provided, its map coordinates
- PAN, bank account number, IFSC code, and GST number, used to verify your store. Payouts aren't currently processed through the platform, but we plan to introduce them once online order payment is available
- Product listings, including photos you upload, pricing, and stock levels
- A photo of you or your store, if you choose to add one to your profile
- Your store's UPI ID, if you add one — shown to customers on orders they pay offline, so they can pay you directly
- Messages you exchange with customers in chat, including any photos, videos, documents, products or orders you share — see Chat & Messages
- Promotional banners you create — their text, the photos and images you add, their dates, and the products you tag on them. Banners are shown to customers in the app and can be viewed by anyone you share their link with
We also automatically record the time and IP address of each sign-in, for both customers and vendors, for account security and to help us investigate suspicious activity. In addition, each time the vendor app is opened we record the IP address, the device platform and app version, and — if you have allowed location access — the device's location and approximate address. This is used only to protect vendor accounts and investigate misuse, is never shown to customers, and only your most recent day of use is kept.
Location Data
With your permission, the customer app can use your device's location to help you find stores near you and to prefill a delivery address. Vendors may set their store's map location so nearby customers can find them, and the vendor app records the device's location for account security as described above. Maps in the apps are shown using OpenStreetMap, and to turn a map point into a readable address we send only its coordinates — not your name or account — to OpenStreetMap's address service. You can decline location access at any time through your device settings — core features like joining a store by QR code and placing an order will still work.
Orders & Payments
When you place an order, we record what you ordered, from which store, its price, and how you chose to pay. At this time that's cash on delivery or an offline method a vendor accepts directly — online payment (UPI, card, net banking, wallet) isn't currently available, but we plan to introduce it in future. Once it is, payment for an order paid online would be processed through a third-party payment provider; we would not store your full card or bank account details ourselves.
A vendor's subscription plan payment (where applicable) is handled by Razorpay, or by Apple In-App Purchase in the iOS app, separately from customer order payments — we retain a record of the transaction, not your raw payment credentials.
Chat & Messages
Customers and stores can message each other inside the apps — for example to ask about a product's availability or an order. When you use chat, we store:
- The messages you send, and any photos, videos or documents you attach (each file is limited to 2 MB)
- Products and orders you share in a chat, which link to the existing product or order
- Whether a message has been delivered and read, so the sender can see its status
- Whether you're currently typing or active in chat, and the last time you were. "Typing" status lasts a few seconds; your last-active time is kept for up to 30 days
A chat can only be seen by its two participants — the customer and the store. Attachments are stored privately and opened through links that expire. We don't read your messages, except to investigate a chat that has been reported to us, or where we're required to by law.
Notifications. When you receive a message, the notification shows the sender's name and a short preview of the message.
Deleting messages. You can delete any message for yourself. You can also delete your own message for everyone within an hour of sending it — its text and attachment are then removed from our servers, and the other person sees that it was deleted.
Reporting and blocking. You can report a chat or a specific message, and block the other person, from inside the chat. When you report a message, we keep a copy of it with the report — even if the sender deletes it later — so our team can review it. Reported chats are reviewed promptly, and we may close a chat or suspend an account that breaks our Terms & Conditions. A blocked chat stops messages in both directions until the person who blocked it unblocks it; the other person isn't notified.
How We Use It
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account, and verify vendor registrations
- Process, fulfill, and let you track orders
- Show you stores and products relevant to you
- Calculate loyalty points, credits, and vendor payouts
- Send order-status and account notifications
- Investigate suspicious sign-ins or fraudulent activity
- Deliver chat messages between customers and stores, and show their delivered/read status
- Review reported promotional banners and chats, and remove content or close chats that break our rules
- Respond to support requests, complaints, and account deletion requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How We Share Information
We share information only where it's needed to run the Service:
- Between customers and vendors — a vendor sees the order details, delivery address, and contact information needed to fulfill your order with them; a customer sees a store's public profile and listings.
- In chat — the messages, files, products and orders you send in a chat are shared with the other person in that chat. Your name (or store name and logo) is shown to them.
- A store's UPI ID — shown to customers on orders they choose to pay offline.
- Payment providers — to process an online payment, when you choose one.
- Map services — map point coordinates sent to OpenStreetMap to look up an address, and map images loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers (which, like any website, see the device's IP address).
- Public promotional banners — a store's promotional banners and the products tagged on them can be viewed by any customer the store's plan allows, and by anyone with a shared banner link.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — who store data on our behalf, under contract, and don't use it for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.
Cookies
This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. The Omni Vibe Mart apps and dashboard use secure session tokens to keep you signed in — not third-party ad or analytics trackers.
Data Security
Account passwords are stored using one-way encryption — we can't read or recover your original password. Sessions are authenticated with encrypted tokens, and a store's QR join code is encrypted so it can't be guessed or enumerated. Chat attachments are kept in private storage and only opened through links that expire. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Data Retention
We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. If you request account deletion, we remove or anonymize your personal information except where we're required to keep it (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
Chat messages are kept while both participants' accounts are active. When you delete your account, your chats are removed or anonymized along with the rest of your personal information. Reports — including the copy of a reported message — may be kept for as long as needed to keep the Service safe and to meet legal requirements.
Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- Update your profile information from within the app — changing your mobile number requires verifying the new number with a one-time code before it takes effect
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request that your account and personal information be deleted
- Withdraw location or notification permissions from your device settings
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
Omni Vibe Mart is not directed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
